- Cut back ivy on walls
- Clematis flowering late Spring/early summer need to be pruned now
- Remove all thin and overcrowded stems
- Grow perennials such as Achilleas, Agastache, Aquilegias, Delphiniums, Dianthus, Echinacea, Gauras, Hollyhocks, Nepeta, Lavender, primulas, Salvia, Scabious, Penstemon and Rudbeckia from seed. Put in a propagator.
- Force spring bulbs for early colour
- Force rhubarb
- Prune greenhouse climbers
- Sow half hardy annuals inside
- Order a dozen of chosen seed potatoes; leave to chit in a seed tray right through the summer (put them out the last day of August)
- Take hardwood cuttings
