FRUIT & VEG
- Sow pepper seeds
- Grow parsley in a propagator at 18 degrees centigrade or on a warm window sill
- Remove straw placed between strawberries, for protecting tender plants from frost.
PLANTS
- Put out Chrysanthemum put them in compost, frost free.
- Buddleias and Lavateras can be cut back now, even if in full leaf still.
- Cut back hard Penstemons to stimulate shoots from the base
- Replant shrubs before pruning them
- Dig out and replace any tatty looking plants, such as Lavender, Salvia, Osteospernum and Artemisia
- Plant drought resistant Cytisus (Broom) with grasses, Cistus, Phormiums and Cypress. Prune out dead brown branches after plants have bloomed.
- Buy cheap bedding plants such as Verbenas and Scaevola, which are hard to raise from seed.
