FRUIT & VEG
- Grow sweet potatoes outdoors; use fleece or cloches to help
- Raspberries can be planted (from November to February)
- Prune gooseberries and blackcurrants in winter to ensure a good crop. (Gooseberries can also be pruned again in the summer).
- Prune grapevines now
PLANTS
- Plant new roses before starting into growth
- Prune and mulch herbaceous perennials
- Prune overgrown shrubs and hedging
NOTES
To kill ivy; use a pruning saw to keep main stems at ground level. Treat the cut surface with root or stump killer.
Put out food for birds and clean out feeders.
